Now You See Me...

I don't post many pictures of myself, and then I came across this one. A flash from the past. This is a shot of me and some of my platoon during my time at The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia, in the friggin' cold winter. (Marine Corps officer training) What fun. *grin* Don't blink or you'll miss me. I'm the camouflaged one wearing the black beanie. Tricky, no? (Note: I had to use spellcheck to spell the word "camouflaged" correctly. Gah.)

I love this picture, Marie! What kind of training were you doing anyway? And why are you the only one in the black hat? Tell, tell. :D

Not sure exactly what this exercise was. Normal training or the 3 day War, which sucked big time. You go to the woods and play war against other platoons, except we were "Arctic Alpha" company and had to be out there, miserably cold, sleeping in the snow. Every try digging a foxhole in frozen ground? Not easy.

Great photo! My dad would like you. He was a marine. ;) He'd had a bit of trouble at first that our son wanted to be in the Air Force instead of the marines.

Awesome picture! And what's with the black beanie? Were you special? Kudos to you and everyone else who served and who is serving now. Happy late turkey day!
