Let Them Eat Cake

Birthday in the house...

Last night I stayed up until 2 AM frosting a racetrack cake and writing my short excerpt for the TRS Romance Divas contest. It was fun, but I was a wreck this morning. Check out my rockin' cake though...

Romance With Harte

I spent all damned day updating my website. I tinkered this weekend and promised myself I'd make up for it today finishing up my edits for my agent. So what did I do instead? I created a new website, one I like much better than the old one, but still. A wasted work day. Now I'll have to work tonight as well to make up for slacking. Ack.

Check out my site and tell me what you think if you get a chance.

Finished Edits

I FINALLY finished massive edits on Guardian's Redemption, my last Storm Lords book. I'd thought the book was finished a while ago. Yeah, that's my ego talking. Since it will be going to a different publisher, the book has to stand-alone, and that takes a lot more work than just continuing the story.

In Guardian's Redemption, Arim finally concludes his business with his nephews, the magical land of Tanselm, his enemy 'Sin Garu, and not least, his ex-lover Lexa Van Nostren, a hated Dark Lord and sister to his enemy. The next overking will be chosen, and Arim's history is revealed.

Cross your fingers...

What's New...

  • Working on Guardian's Redemption so I can get it out to Rae for a good once over.
  • Still working on edits for The Devil's Playground
  • Writing Ryen's story, a futuristic m/m romance. Not sure if a female romance lead will be making an appearance or not. I don't write straight m/m, but Ryen and Drekk are pretty into each other.
  • Gearing up for next week's new episode of Supernatural on the WB. What can I say? I love horror and family dynamics, and the cute Winchesters have great chemistry. Hunky brothers fighting evil and at times, each other. Great stuff.

And here's a joke to liven up your Friday...

A very tired nurse walks into a bank, totally exhausted after an 18- hour shift.

Preparing to write a check, she pulls a rectal thermometer out of her
purse and tries to write with it.

When she realizes her mistake, she looks at the flabbergasted teller and
without missing a beat, she says: "Well, that's great....that's just great....some asshole's got my pen!"

The Making of the Storm Lords

This is my blogging week at Novelspot, and today I posted there about the making of the Storm Lords. I'm trying to fix up the last book with the help of a woman who knows good books. Hopefully, I'll have Guardian's Redemption out before the end of the year. (Fingers are crossed) If you've never read the Storm Lords, you should still be able to read this last book and understand everything. And that's what makes writing this series hard. There's a lot of content to go into one last book.
So check out Novelspot and see what I'm talking about.

Rachel's Totem: New Release!

I've been so busy blogging elsewhere I'm just now hitting my own blog! Today, Rachel's Totem releases, and I'm very excited. I've now read all the cat shifter books. Each one is different, and each one is excellent. Gee, could I be biased? You bet, but I wouldn't push a bad book on anyone.

Take a look at the town of Cougar Falls, Montana. Rachel is there for a reading of her aunt's will, but there's something odd about the townsfolk, and something even more odd about the man she can't take her eyes from in the diner. He's rude, hostile, and annoyingly attractive, not what she's looking for at all in a man. But the path her life takes is soon out of her hands when her inheritance complicates things. The rude stranger is her new neighbor, and a part of her aunt's will. He's not as bad as he first seemed, but is that glowing hunger in his eyes his desire for her, or something more... something inhumanly, impossibly more?

The Perfect Creation: An Excerpt

Coming in June from Total E-Bound, The Perfect Creation. I updated my website and included this never before seen excerpt. Check it out, and enjoy!

Rafe of Mardu has a problem. He’s sent to baby-sit his troublesome older brother, and in the process finds himself kidnapped by a woman too perfect to be real. To make matters worse, he’s mistaken for his old alter-ego, Cheltam--a criminal mastermind who actually serves as a cover for Rafe’s real work as a lawman. But Erin, his kidnapper, needs his help, and Rafe is unable to deny the protective instincts, as well as the lust, he feels in her presence. He agrees to help her, posing as Cheltam. And they seal the deal with more than a kiss, in an act that changes Rafe’s world forever. When he learns that this special woman is a Creation, an “abomination” in the eyes of the System and one that is to be terminated on sight, Rafe doesn’t just bend the rules, he breaks them. Together, he and Erin will take on the laboratory that created her. The odds are against them, but if they’re successful, Rafe plans on a future with the woman he considers his mate…if only he can convince her that his love is real.
