Tax Hell

I can't believe it's been a week and a half since I've blogged! Must be because I'm stuck in tax hell...

sigh. Being in between projects isn't always the best for me, because I fall off the writing wagon. I forget deadlines and the act of sitting down to write and goof off. Well, not any more. After learning I'll probably need to donate my left lung, an eyeball, and a kidney to pay for last year's income, I'm quietly going nuts while planting my ass on my chair and type, type, typing away.

I'm just hoping my accountant can do something creative with numbers and make my payment go way, way down. Self-employment is great, and it's a bitch. Especially when the government is holding out its greedy little hands. So I might incorporate, or I might not. Either way, the notion doesn't help me for last year. If I could offer a piece of advice? If you're doing fairly well writing, and you're happy with your income that has a few pretty zeroes on the end it, see an accountant BEFORE the year ends. Soon as you start making that green, actually. It'll save you in the long run.

Now, I really must write!!

Ugh. Taxes. I have too much other stuff to think about, do i have to think about that, too? :(

I bet you had TONS of expenses for your out-of-state move. Can you relate any of those at all to your writing?

You would think so with the moving, but I only moved myself out here. I'm going back this summer to get the rest of my crap. Gah. I'm hoping I can write that off for next year's taxes, but I have to look into it. Not sure how long a move can take.
