Cowboys & Aliens: A Movie Review
Starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford
Directed by Jon Favreau
No spoilers, just a slightly biased opinion of the movie in general. You already know, just by the title, the movie is about aliens and cowboys. Plot. Check. And man, is this my kind of movie.
But there's so much more to this picture than action and CGI, though don't get me wrong, the aliens are very cool. Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig lead an all-star cast of recognizable actors in this film that is so much more than cowboys and aliens.
There's character depth, and Ford is terrific as a hard-*ssed father and rancher. Craig is a mystery. Who is he? How did he end up with that thing on his arm? Why does the law seem so interested in him?
Direction (by Favreau) was terrific. Set design and graphics were killer. The dialogue and plot original and fun. This is a summer blockbuster that's perfect for the teen or adult to watch. It might be a bit scary for younger viewers, though. (I won't be taking my 7 and 6 year old to see it.)
And yes, I saw the movie at 12:02 AM, opening night, along with a predominantly male audience. And my mother. It was one hell of a ride, just pure fun. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who like action, character, cowboys, and aliens. The movie gets an A from me.

An Update
I'm moving soon, and I've been going crazy looking at houses and figuring finances, best schools, and what will fit my family, all while working my tush off to finish a story.
Good news: I may have found a house.
Great news: I finished Grayson's Gamble!
Now I'm just editing and reediting. Some polishing, more polishing. And then I'll send it off to my editor. So as least I have that going for me. I really like this new story, which tells Grayson Belle's tale. Gray is Ava's brother, the heroine from Gunnar's Game. So technically, this is part of the Dawn Endeavor series for Loose Id. But if you've never read a Circ book before, you'll still understand this one.
I'll post an excerpt tomorrow...er, Wednesday. Now I'm off to bed. Yeah, West Coast time. Still taking me a while to get used to being three hours behind my usual clock.

5 Star Review for RetroCog
Author: Marie Harte
Publisher: Loose Id
Review: Stefani Clayton
Rating: 5 Stars
Heat Level: O
Noah First is psychic and until recently he was part of the governmental agency Psychic Warfare Program. Unfortunately, now that the program has been dismissed, he’s found himself working in the private sector. His latest job is to find a missing painting that has been stolen. Noah thinks it is an easy job until he tracks the missing art to a town that features an ex-bordello and a woman he can’t get out of his head. Lara Graham runs the Lady Fine Inn, and despite the history of the place, she feels connected to it in some way. When the surly stranger takes up residence, Lara finds herself embroiled in sex, lies and murder. Some old, some new, and Lara discovers her life is intertwined in the outcome. It’s going to require Lara and Noah to get past the sexual chemistry to find a killer before the killer finds Lara.
I’m a huge fan of paranormal stories, but it is hard to find a good paranormal that doesn’t include shape shifters and werewolves. RetroCog (a Power Up! Story) manages it, and well I might add. Lara is a great character. She is a bit confused at times, but that stands to reason. Noah is amazing and is not your usual psychic. Noah can see into the past and some of his visions made me chuckle. There were several secondary characters, all of whom were interesting enough to carry their own sequel and I suspect I will be looking forward to more in this series, as well as looking back at the previous stories. Despite this being an awesome story with great characters, there was a wide array of amazing sexual scenes all of which were orgasm worthy. May I suggest you have your significant other close at hand. You will defiantly find that you will be in the mood for some of your own lovin’. All in all, RetroCog was a great erotic romance and certainly worthy of adding to the top of your list.
